Best Restaurants & Cafes for Catching Rare Pokémon

Gotta catch ’em all AND fill your tummy?

Best Cafes and Restaurants for Catching Rare Pokemon

Imagine this:

You’re sitting comfortably in a chair, enjoying a delicious meal with a cup of coffee, and ever so often, a Pokémon pops up on your screen. But this is no Rattata or Pidgey, it’s a Clefairy! And a Seel! And a Vapereon!

Believe it or not – these Poké paradises do actually exist. Ideally, they are located between at least 2 Pokéstops, and have certain geographical features in the proximity that will attract more than just Zubats and Weedles. If you are looking for cafes or restaurants that where you can satisfy your tummy, zhng your Pokédex and level up as a Pokémon trainer, we have some suggestions for you!

Tsukada Nojo (Liang Court)

Not many people know that this outlet exists, given how empty it seems compared to the other franchises. Their excellent bijin nabe filled with a whole tray of fresh organic vegetables in their signature golden collagen chicken stock is to die for, as is their nikumaki onigiri. I was pleasantly surprised to realise that it was conveniently situated right smack in the middle of 2 Pokéstops which perpetually had lures on. This provided a constant stream of Clefairys, Nidorans and Slowpokes. The crazy thing was there was also a Dragonite and Nidoqueen (!!! both of which I sadly let slip), a Clefable, and a Golduck! Talk about sitting on a gold mine!

Rare Pokémon: Dragonite, Nidoqueen, Clefable, Golduck
Common Pokémon: Clefairy, Psyduck, Slowpoke, Nidoran, Zubat, Goldeen, Beansprout

Uncle Leong Seafood (Punggol Waterway)

This little outpost in Punggol has a surprising number of uncommon Pokémon, perhaps owing to its location by the waterway and the fact that there are three Pokéstops there. During our dinner here, we managed to catch a Vaporean, Rhyhorn and Clefairy, among what felt like a constant onslaught of Zubats. After your meal, you can even walk those calories off (and possibly hatch an egg) along the beautiful waterway. Your only problem might be facing the wrath of Kingley as you devour that delicious bowl of Claypot Crab Beehoon.
Rare Pokémon: Vaporean, Rhyhorn, Clefairy, Golbat
Common Pokémon: Zubats (tons of them!), Magikarp, Goldeen, Pidgey, Rattata

Bread Street Kitchen (Marina Bay Sands)

I’d like to think that Gordon Ramsay had the foresight to place his flagship restaurant in Singapore in between 2 Pokéstops. With an extensive selection of British- European food inspired with Asian influences, every meal here promises to be an exciting experience. The crowd favourites in the restaurant are the Fish and Chips, slow-roasted Pork Belly and the exceptional desserts . But outside of it, it’s the likes of Seel, Drowsee and Geodude that will get the crowds into a swiping frenzy. Being able to catch these rare Pokémon from the comfort of your seat? Priceless.

Tip: Sit at the restaurant instead of the bar to be better placed between the two Pokéstops!

Rare Pokémon: Seel, Seadra, Rhyhorn, Drowsee, Shellder
Common Pokémon: Weedle, Psyduck, Magikarp, Slowpoke

Did you know that Singapore Seafood Republic is the lovechild of 4 seafood powerhouses in Singapore – Palm Beach, Tung Lok, Jumbo and Seafood International? With their powers combined, you will be spoilt for choice in the variety of seafood dishes. Food-wise, your best catch will probably be the award-winning Chilli Crab, Salted Egg Yolk Crab and Cheese Mentaiko King Prawns. What’s gonna make this meal a lot more savoury? Having dining companions like Abra and Electabuzz right next to you.

Rare Pokémon: Electabuzz, Abra, Voltorb, Shellder, Meowth, Persian, Magnemite
Common Pokémon: Poliwag, Magikarp, Goldeen, Psyduck, Kingley

Popular for their thin, fluffy crepes bursting with fresh fruit, this dessert stop in Changi village is also bursting with electric Pokémon. With 2 Pokéstops at the cafe itself, your dessert experience will be electrifying with a steady stream of uncommon Pokémon like Magnetron, Voltrob and even Pikachu! Don’t leave without ordering the Mao Shan Wang and Mango crepe!

Rare Pokémon: Meowth, Magnemite, Magnetron, Electrode, Ponyta, Pikachu
Common Pokémon: Paras, Spearow, Rattata

Georges Beach Club (East Coast)

With a good assortment of local and Western dishes, Georges Beach Club has always been a popular spot at East Coast Park to chill out. Perhaps that is also why it’s so attractive to rare Pokémon like Omanyte and Charmander! Tap on their fantastic lager deals and enjoy an ice cold beer with bar classics like baby calamari and chilli mussels as you bask in the ambience of the balmy sea breeze and live band music. Just don’t get too Drowsee!

Rare Pokémon: Mankey, Drowsee, Charmander, Omanyte, Rapidash
Common Pokémon: Caterpie, Rattata, Poliwag, Staryu
